View From the Inside - Tony Yunger, fabricator.
8-31-11
Life gets interesting sometimes. There are times when our plans don’t go the way we want in life. We all have aspirations and desires, but do they really ever turn out the way we plan?
Today as we view at Daytec Center from the inside, we will begin to meet some of the employees who make the shop what it is day in and out. In reality, this is a journey you and I are both on. I am doing my best to fit in around here as best I can, learn everything possible, and stay out of the way while I do it. I would like you to meet Tony.
Tony Yunger is a R&D tech, fabricator, and machinist. These are the official jobs of Tony here at Daytec, but when asked what he does, he replied, “causing trouble”. Currently Tony is working on our new “BGB” (Big Guy Bagger) frame. He is developing the frame gussets for the neck area of the bike to build strength and style into the new frame.
Tony has worked for Daytec for 15 years, but took a 1 year sabbatical to explore the world of truck driving. Ultimately he came back to the shop to fulfill his true calling as a metal worker and fabricator. I asked Tony if he had any advice for the next generation, and those of us who have chosen not to grow up… he said “Take time to think twice before you act in life. It’s far better to think through your actions before doing anything… Don’t be stupid!”
Even when life doesn’t take us where our plans would suggest, we still need to keep our head and think about what we are doing. Thanks Tony for the words of wisdom.
One of the greatest things about Daytec, is we are so much more than just a bunch of mechanics. Have you gotten to know the people who bring you some of the best frames and highest quality of motorcycle work in southern California?
Come check us out and see what we are all about.
~ Until next time,
Brian,
Daytec Center Marketing
