At Daytec, we take great pride in the manufacturing of our frames. Our main priority is our customers and the fact that they will be supplied with a quality product.
Soft Tail
Softail Frames are the most widely used frame in the aftermarket motorcycle industy. The orginal design of the Softail motorcycle gives you the benefit of the Rigid Frame motorcycle look but allows for a more comfortable ride due to the fact that it has suspension. The shock absorbers are located on the underside of the motorcycle where you can't see them. This is very desirable based on the cosmetic appearance of the motorcycle as many people don't want to see shock absorbers on the rear portion of their motorcycle. Handling characteristics of Softail motorcycles are somewhat affected due to the geometry of the swing arm and shock absorbers. Since the drivetrain is bolted rigidly into Softail motorcycle frames the rider experiences the harsh vibrations and engine firing pulses being transferred throughout the frame and motorcycle. More designs and alterations have been made to the Softail Frame than any other type frame being built in this industry today.
Rigid
The Rigid Frame design was the first used by the Harley Davidson Motorcycle Co. It gives the motorcycle that nostalgic look many people are looking for. It also provides a frame platform that makes it easier and a more affordable motorcycle to build. The drive train on Rigid Frame motorcycles, like Softails, is bolted rigidly into the frame and the rider experiences the same chracteristics as if riding Softail motorcycles. Rigid Frame motorcycles have become more popular in the past few years and gives the builder the oportunity build that more nastalgic looking motorcycle or the Custom "Big Tire" look that has dominated our industry in the past few years.
RubberMount
The Rubber Mount Frame offers the rider the most comfortable experience in riding. In recent years "The Bagger" has become the most popular. Harley's FLH model motorcycles all use the rubber mount system to mount the drivetrain. The drivetrain on rubber mount frames is mounted into the chasis using vibration absorbing mounts and the suspension utilizes external mounted shock absorbers to give the rider a more controlable and comfortable riding experience. A large percent of engine vibrations and firing pulses are absorbed through the "Rubber Mounts" and isolated from the rider. This is mostly noticeable at cruising highway speeds. When properly designed and built a Rubber Mount Frame motorcycle can offer the rider a good looking motorcycle coupled with a much more functional and desirable experience.
